CHM Policy Statement on Safeguarding Children
and Vulnerable Adults

We recognise the value and dignity of every person and therefore commit ourselves to protect and safeguard all those with whom we interact, particularly children, young people and adults at risk.

We recognise our responsibility to take safeguarding seriously.  The Trustees will ensure that the Director of CHM undertakes the mandatory training in this area.

We undertake to exercise proper care in the selection, appointment, training and support of those working with children or adults at risk.

We will respond without delay to concerns or allegations that a child or adult at risk may have been harmed in the course of our interaction with them, cooperating fully in any investigation.

We will challenge any abuse of power by anyone in a position of trust at CHM.

We will seek to find pastoral care and support, including supervision and referral to the proper authorities if necessary, for anyone affected by abuse of any kind at CHM.

The Revd John Ryeland  -  Director of CHM and Safeguarding Officer
