‘God gives the Spirit without limit’ John 3.34
This is a wonderful verse to call to mind whenever you are in need of God. What it means is that God has given you the fullness of the Holy Spirit – not just a part of him, but all of him. If you think about it, this is quite logical – the Holy Spirit is a person so he cannot be divided up any more than you can. When you go into a room, every part of you is there and not just a little bit. So it is with the Holy Spirit, whom God has given us. We have his fullness within us. Our trouble is that we either don’t know it or we forget to live in the reality of the gift that God has given us.
Whatever situations you face today, the truth is that the full measure of the Holy Spirit has been given to you and you can call upon him and draw on him for every occasion. He is the Spirit who longs to bring fruit to your life; he is the Spirit who brings gifts to you so that you might be a blessing to others; he is the Spirit who is constantly seeking to bring you back to the wonder of God’s love for you.
Take a few moments to repeat these words to yourself and let their impact fill you: “The fullness of the Holy Spirit is dwelling in me.”
