Being led forward

‘…God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.’ 1 Thessalonians 2.12

We all live very different lives with our own circumstances and pressures, yet despite this we all live with a similar calling upon us. Paul puts it this way in his letter to the Thessalonians: God calls us into his kingdom.

Whatever your situation, there is more that God has for you. You may consider yourself bound by circumstances, but this phrase puts it differently: there is always more of God’s kingdom, and you are called to it. Stepping into his kingdom means admitting the situations surrounding you could be different and making a conscious decision to start believing there really is more.

Today, as you face the routine of your daily life or the panic of something that causes you anxiety, spend a few moments putting everything into perspective by repeating these words slowly and with faith: ‘God has called me into his kingdom.’

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
