‘And they sang a new song before the throne’ Revelation 14.3
Praying according to how we are feeling at a particular time is natural, yet if our prayer lives are governed by our feelings or what is on our minds, the danger is that if we do not feel like worshipping then we won’t.
Set patterns of prayer can be so helpful in avoiding this tendency, although there is a danger that we lose spontaneity and creativity in our relationship with God. However you ‘organise’ your prayers, there is a calling to sing a new song to God – not literally, but certainly to ensure your praise and worship is not simply the same as it was yesterday and the day before.
Prayer linked to Bible readings can be helpful. What is it from your daily reading of the Bible that you can use to ‘feed’ your worship? What aspect of God’s character does a particular passage highlight and which you can turn into worship? Is there a verse you can use as a prayer of praise to God?
Your relationship with God is kept alive and fresh by singing a new song to him every day.
We have a few spaces available on our “Receive and Reflect” zoom session this morning at 10.00am. This will “feed your worship”. Book now and we’ll send you the link. www.healingmission.org/ministrysession
