Bringing life to others

‘Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.’ Genesis 2.7

Many people share the desire to know that they have a purpose, a significance and that they matter.  Actually, the simple act of breathing can remind us of our worth to God.  God breathed into the first Adam and his breath caused life to fill Adam’s body.  From that moment on, every breath he took was a reminder of that first breath that God blew into him; a reminder that God created him and put him on earth for a purpose – and so it is with us.

You have been chosen by God, placed in the place and time that he has determined for you, and into you he has blown his life.  Let every breath you take remind you of the first breath that God blew into you.  He chose you to live and placed within you his life-giving Spirit, not just to give you life but so that you might be a source of life to others.

It is a challenging thought that you can be a source of life to every person you meet today, whether by a kind word, a small act of kindness or a prayer for them.  The life God has given you is a life that brings life to others.

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
