Facing the day with Jesus

“All things have been committed to me by my Father.” Matthew 11.27

In many ways this sounds like a perfectly simple statement, but the truth behind it is quite astounding. Jesus is saying that there is nothing that has not already been handed over to him. Nothing! This includes everything that you will experience or go through today.

From time to time we all face things that we do not look forward to, and today might be a difficult day for you. If so, try applying this verse to the things you are facing. Everything in this day has been committed to Jesus by the Father. In other words, God has looked over this day and out of his love, he has handed the events in it to Jesus. Whatever you will go through today is already in his hands and your attitude to the day can change by holding firmly onto this truth.

If you are facing something hard today, or in the days ahead, see it now in the hands of Jesus. Rather than dreading it or being anxious, face it in the knowledge that it is already in his hands. He has gone before you and is holding it for you, because it has been committed to him by the Father.

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
