God can use us

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: it is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name” Ezekiel 36.22

We would all love to be used more by God but at times it is tempting to ask why he might want to use us?  Are we holy or important enough?  The problem with thinking like this is that we centre everything on ourselves – ‘Why would God use me?’

These words from Ezekiel give us a new perspective on being used by God; that it is not about us but about him.  God is desperate for the world to know him and for people to receive his love and mercy, and for this reason he will use us.  It is not about us but all about him.

As you go about your daily routine and meet others, recognise that God has a yearning to touch them.  It is not about you wondering if you are good enough for him to use, but rather about how desperate he is to touch his world.

Every single one of us can be used today to bring something of God’s love to others.  Let’s be open to this and look for opportunities to be a blessing.

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
