God never stops doing good

‘I will never stop doing good to them.’ Jeremiah 32.40

God’s wonderful plan is that he will never stop doing good to you. However, you might be tempted to look back over times in your life, or possibly things you are going through right now, and come up with plenty of occasions when you have not seen much evidence for this statement. Can God be serious?

It all depends on what is meant by doing good. If it means an expectation that God will do everything you would like him to do, then you might find yourself disappointed. God doing good to you may involve more than giving you everything you want.

It can be very hard to see the hand of God’s blessing in the midst of difficult circumstances, but if you can form a habit of spending time reflecting on the past day and asking yourself where you can see God at work, you are more likely to be able to see the daily blessings that he pours out upon you. Rather than wonder where God was when you really needed him, you are likely to be amazed at the enormity of his activity in your life.

Look back and reflect on the past day. Even if you could not see it at the time, where would you say that you can now see God’s hand at work?

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
