God’s resolution to you

“They will be my people, and I will be their God.” Jeremiah 32.38

It’s likely that many of us are pondering New Year Resolutions – indeed some may already have been broken! The thought of God making New Year Resolutions doesn’t seem quite right as it implies that he changes from year to year – which he does not – but the implication of a New Year resolution is that there is an undertaking to do something. God’s undertakings are not for one year only, but rather are eternal commitments.

Throughout the Bible we are reminded of God’s commitment to us. Our commitment to him may indeed waiver, be short-lived and even shallow, but his commitment to us is total, sacrificial and eternal.

Every single day of this New Year Jesus will be with you, revealing more of the Father’s love and seeking to draw you deeper in your awareness of it. He will be utterly committed to you, even when you let him down and your commitment to him falters. This is why it is a ‘Happy New Year!’

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
