His glory is here

‘And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”’ Isaiah 6.3

This verse formed part of Isaiah’s vision of heaven that was to completely change his life. In his vision, he was granted a glimpse of what the angels saw, which was the earth full of God’s glory. Note that it was not a case of the earth being full of God’s glory one day when things improved, but it is full of his glory now.

Perhaps what the angels see is the all-pervading presence of God throughout creation and among those he has created. All too often what we see is gloom, hopelessness and the fears caused by the situations facing us, yet the angels see glory!

If you could see the light you bear, and the light that every believer around you bears, maybe you, too, would be able to glimpse the wonder of the earth being full of the glory of God.

Catch the reality of the light within you by taking these words from Jeremiah 15.16 and saying them to yourself for two or three minutes: “I bear your name, O Lord God Almighty.” Focus on the truth of them and begin to sense something of the glory that is in you and which you take with you wherever you go.
