It’s all a matter of vision

“Do not be afraid…” Deuteronomy 3.2

In the first three verses of this chapter, Moses is recounting the story of the encounter between the Israelites and King Og. It began with Og assembling his whole army and marching out to meet the Israelites. Imagine the terror of standing to watch an army advance in front of you, intent on your destruction!

However, God told Moses something which had a transforming effect upon the situation: he had already handed the whole of Og’s army over to Moses. With this in mind, the Israelites attacked the army of Og and won a resounding victory.

This victory all started with vision. The Israelites changed from seeing the situation through a vision of fear to seeing it through God’s vision.

You may not have to face armies today, but as you look forward to what lies ahead in your life, what are the things that stir up fear or anxiety within you? As you ponder them, ask the Holy Spirit to give you his vision for those moments; what will he be doing and what is he seeking to give you?

As you walk into those moments with his vision, as opposed to yours, everything can change.

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
