It’s God’s opinion that counts

‘Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no-one condemned you?” “No-one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared.’ John 8.10
These remain some of the most powerful and releasing words spoken by Jesus. Within a short space of time, this woman had moved from a position of being vilified, accused and condemned, to being pronounced innocent and free. The liberating implication of these words is that if Jesus does not condemn us, the opinions of others is of little regard.
Catching God’s opinion of us is vital, yet so many people still live under the impression that God himself is against them, following them around to record all their failings. Paul addressed this in his letter to the Romans, when he asked, ‘Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?’ (Romans 8.33). It is a question we too would do well to ponder. He then went on to declare it could not be God who was against his chosen ones, because he had sent Jesus for them. You are chosen by God and Jesus cannot be against you, since he gave up his life for you.
If you can believe this, you can lift your head up high, for if God himself looks at you without condemnation then why are you afraid of the opinion of others? God looks at you with love and is totally for you.
