“. . . The LORD is there . . .” Ezekiel 48.35
Whenever we ask ourselves the question, ‘Where is Jesus?’, the truth is that there is more than one answer.
On the one hand Jesus is always with us; he has made his home within us and it is his pleasure to dwell in us. Yet it is equally true that at the same time he is also seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven, in glory with all things beneath his feet.
That is what we are reminded of in the last words of the book of Ezekiel. The prophet describes the heavenly city and concludes the description by revealing the name of it: “THE LORD IS THERE”.
When your problems seem too big for you, you need to begin to see them from the perspective of the one who is seated above all things, as this changes your perception of them. He is the Lord, and the problems are not lording it over him.
You bear his name. You bear the truth and the reality of the one who is Lord over all. You carry this truth into every situation into which you walk. Take a moment to hold the hours ahead in your mind, and over each event and situation have this assurance: the Lord is there.
