Something has to change

‘In Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.’ Colossians 2.10

This is an amazing statement! In whatever situation or struggle we find ourselves, there is a whole new perspective to it that is easily missed: Christ is above everything. This doesn’t mean that Jesus will automatically change all the difficulties in our lives; he may change us!

There are probably a number of occasions when we all face struggles, and not only is God seeking to change those situations but also to change us; to teach us something, strengthen us in some way or to challenge an attitude or perception we might have.

This is not out of a sense of punishment, but because the transformation God is seeking to bring about in us is all about fullness. His heart’s desire is for us to experience life in a far deeper way than we may do at the moment. Sometimes this means our circumstances must yield to his power and authority, and at other times it is us who must change.

Think about the transformation that God is bringing to your life at the moment. What do you sense he is wanting to do?

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
