‘Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…’ Hebrews 12.2

A humbling truth about our faith is that however much you feel you have searched for Jesus, the reality is he has been searching for you so much more. Jesus is the author of your faith; he desired it, dreamed of it and brought it into being. You did not stumble into your beliefs and become a Christian by chance – Jesus planted faith within you. All your life he has been waiting for you to respond to him, and because he is the author of your faith it must be so precious to him.

You are probably only too aware of your failures and shortcomings, which at times might cause you to wonder if you are a disappointment to God. However, nothing could be further from the truth. You are the work of his hands and bring wonder and delight to Jesus. Of course, there is still work to do on you, but each day Jesus looks on you with the delight of an artist working on something dear to him.
