“When I act, who can reverse it?” Isaiah 43.13
God has acted: he sent Jesus and this can never be reversed. What Jesus did in his life and ministry on earth can never be revoked; it stands for all time. Similarly, his death on the cross to take away our sins can never be reversed, so it must be true that there is nothing we cannot bring to him for forgiveness, and no sin he will not gladly bear so we might experience freedom.
The promise to bring abundant life was for all people throughout all ages, and when Jesus looks at you his dream and longing is for you to have abundant life. Therefore, there is no situation facing you that you cannot place into his hands.
The motive for all the actions of God is his overwhelming, inexhaustible love for his people. There is nothing you have done or could ever do that will cause his love for you to dry up. This is not a license to try God’s patience, but an invitation to come again to his open arms. The love of God is there for you, and you can rest in it, revel in it and trust in it.
