The Heart of God

‘For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him’ Colossians 1.19

A common question asked by many is, ‘What does God want for me?’  Life might be difficult for you – so is this what God wants for you or dare you hope that there is more?

The encouragement of this verse is that in Jesus we see the fullness of God; his power and his will. The heart of God for his world is fully revealed in the person of Jesus.  The implication of this is that what Jesus did in his life and ministry is an expression of God’s heart for us and one reason why Jesus foresaw his ministry continuing (John 14.12) is that he knew that the heart of his Father would not change. All of this assures us that there is indeed more for each of us.  Jesus came to reveal the Father’s heart and to show us what it looks like for us.

As you seek his healing in every part of your life, there may indeed be frustrations and things you do not understand along the way, but one thing that you can rely on is the heart of the Father revealed in Jesus.

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
