The kingdom without limit

“…your kingdom come” Matthew 6.10

For those of us who live under a monarchy, the kingdom of which we are a part has geographical limits. When we physically go beyond these limits, the laws and ways of our kingdom cease to apply to us. The kingdom of God is different, it has no geographical borders. Instead it is the Father’s kingdom that surrounds Jesus. On every occasion the presence of Jesus is with us, the kingdom is surrounding him and there is no limit to what it brings.

In the Gospels, everything Jesus did was a part of his Father’s kingdom. Jesus has been made Lord of all, the one who reigns over all and who has everything under his feet. When you invite him to come close, you invite his rule, his reign and his power as well.

Instead of launching straight into prayer, try to find an awareness of the reality of the presence of Jesus and the Father’s kingdom. Then anything might happen!
