There is more – for me

“… I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10.10

As we ponder this amazing offer of abundant life, it causes us to dream about what such life might look like for us.  What would it really be like to be touched in the way that so many people were touched by Jesus in his ministry on earth?  Could it ever really happen?  Perhaps a more honest question is whether it could actually happen to us personally?  We know that God can do anything, but is it likely that we might be recipients of his touch?

Jesus asserted that he came so that we might have life to the full.  Most people only dream of it or imagine what it might be like, but his desire is that we actually have it.  So why not us?  What is it that makes us feel that we might be excluded and that somehow Jesus may not want us to have it?

One of the first steps towards receiving all that Jesus has for us is to begin to be open to his desires and dreams for us.  We can’t dictate exactly what that life will look like or in what time-frame it may come, but we can be open to lifting our eyes beyond our current experience and starting to believe that he has more for us.
