Worship

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory” Revelation 4.11

God is worthy and there will be times in our lives when we stand before him with awe and praise at who he is and what he has done. When we can clearly see how worthy he is, it comes very naturally to respond to him in this way.

However, this not always the case. God’s ways are not our ways and he does not always act like a human being. When we are faced with moments of confusion, doubt, disappointment and questioning, it can be a real challenge to admit that this statement is still true – God is worthy to receive glory.

It is in those moments that we become true worshippers. We are not worshipping according to our feelings or comfortable circumstances, but instead are worshipping in truth despite what is going on around us. The way we worship can be a dividing issue in some churches, but perhaps the preference God has is not based on the style or age of the songs but on the heart of the worshipper.

Turn to God and choose to worship him right now, especially if life seems hard. Despite your circumstances, worship him because he utterly loves you.

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
