‘… Jesus Christ … has made us to be a kingdom…’ Revelation 1.6
We are a kingdom. We have Jesus as our king and we are the ones for whom Jesus is pleased to be king. Jesus has made all of us to be a kingdom – not just the strong, mighty warriors for the Lord who blaze a trail for Jesus wherever they go, but also those of us who are struggling to know whether God could ever love us.
Sometimes a sense of our own unworthiness consumes us to the extent that we are robbed of any sense of our value to God, and God is robbed of the joy of knowing we take as much pleasure in him as he does in us.
Jesus has made us to be a kingdom, but he is not sitting in heaven regretting his mistake! He is pleased with his choice so we can hold our heads up high, knowing we are loved and chosen and we belong to him.
Take a moment now to ponder this wonderful truth that you are his and he takes pleasure in you. You matter to him and he wants you to grasp this and open yourself up to the sense of his pleasure in you.
