Your faith is in good hands! | 7

‘Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…’ Hebrews 12.2

Seeking to live a life worthy of our calling, and yet resting in the presence of Jesus who is revealed as the perfecter of our faith, might suggest a possible tension.

If you set out to become as holy and prayerful as possible you will probably fail quite quickly! The intention may be wonderfully noble, but the means to achieving it might be lacking. There is also a danger of becoming quite critical of others who do not seem to share your zeal, even if you are unable to achieve it yourself. However, if Jesus is the perfecter of your faith he must have a plan or agenda for you, as well as the means for that perfection to grow within you.

The key to this plan is relationship – you constantly coming back to him and finding the joy of his presence as often as possible. Jesus loves you and is with you all the time, so the more you fix your eyes on him, the more your faith is made perfect.

A healing touch from Jesus can be life changing – which is wonderful! – but if you, or the people you are praying for, are inclined to make any significant change to your lifestyle, please think it through carefully and check it out with a wise friend, doctor or church leader first.
